Iatrogenic Deaths

It’s estimated that 100,000-200,000 Americans are killed each year by hospitals, doctors and/or drugs. These deaths are labeled iatrogenic deaths (doctor caused). These numbers are grossly understated and this chart above breaks down all the different deaths and tallies the real number. Each study is cited so double check for yourself. So the number of iatrogenic deaths is more like 783,000 Americans. And these deaths are attributed to the western health care system itself. This is an outrageous and unacceptable number. It almost equals the combined casualties by the top 2 usual killers – heart disease and cancer! And don’t forget the $282 billion dollar cost that these blunders come with, not to mention the excessive amount of suffering on the part of the victims and their families and friends.

It’s time to force the system to change. We need better health care. We need affordable health care. We need happy doctors. We need to get the corruption out of the drug makers and the FDA. We need real change because its our lives that are at stake. Speak up now before it is to late.
