Rolfing on Oprah

11th April 2007

OprahOprah did a great job commenting on John Martine’s work. She mentioned twice she wanted to see him backstage after the show to get worked on. Nice. Dr. Oz said he made a “friend for life” when he was getting backwork too. Double nice. But all in all it’s just real sad for all the Structural Integration practitioners doing amazing work in the world and they didn’t get their just mention. Rolfing is Structural Integration as Kleenex is to tissue. Hopefully this will educate everyone. Click here to view it.

Soliton Wave Cold Lasers

7th April 2007

Laser I’ve been using this type of cold laser successfully for almost a year now and thought it was time to spread the word. I’ve put it through rigorous empirical testing - specifically targeting acute and chronic pain sites. Although I also manipulate the connective tissue, possibly skewing the efficacy of the cold laser, I can say for sure that it does reduce pain. I’ve also done isolated testing on myself - and I’m impressed to say the least. In just 6 minutes the sore, tender, painful tissue feels better. Those cool Star Trek healing devices are now available to the public! I guess it’s time to blog to see if it’s worth the steep price -I paid an excrutiating $6000 for a 5 milliwatt laser and one 300 milliwatt probe. Though it is technically an “experimental treatment”, I have yet to charge a fee for using it. And I don’t plan to. So now I will spread the word and say that I can get anyone a discount if they email me directly and I will refer you to a specific online distributor.

I’m under the impression that these lasers work by emitting various resonating wavelengths based on the vibrational frequency of healthy cells - which in turn is based on Royal Rife’s frequency research. Though Rife used radio wave technology, I’m under the impression that laser light can somehow match these patterns. The laser is strong enough to entrain the sick, damaged, dehydrated tissue vibrating at an “unhealthy” frequency back to the frequency that makes healthy tissue healthy. Does this make sense?

Here is an excerpt from a popular laser website:

Healing lasers are often termed low level lasers, cold lasers or soft lasers. This defines them as lower powered or non cutting lasers. Lasers can be very powerful so it is important when purchasing a laser to find one that is effective yet is not too powerful.
Soliton Lasers stimulate glands throughout the body to produce optimal vitality and harmony. Glands are key in the rejuvenation process and work with the lymphatic system to bring the body back into balance.

HOW LASERS WORK

Lasers work on the principle of donating energy. This energy, often defined as joules of energy or photons, benefits the cell in numerous ways. It has been found to enhance the electron spin of the cell, which helps the DNA and increases the mitochondrial output of ATP. ATP is the energy of the cell which stimulates cellular rejuvenation. The Vogue Article

2nd March 2007

Vogue2“Back In Style”
By Heidi Julavits

This past year has been, for me, a period of intense personal searching. I asked myself the hard questions. What Kind of Person Am I? How Do I Want Others to Perceive Me? And Will My Computer Fit Inside? For months, I pitilessly self-scrutinized as I scoured the earth for the perfect handbag.
And then I found it. A faux-reptile, space-age grommetted Marni tote, “a work of art” as the saleswoman said. Righto, but let’s see what it holds, I thought as I emptied the contents of my current Sad Sack (laptop, books, pens, wallet, diapers, wipes, emergency baggie of bread sticks) into the work of art. Everything fit, and the work of art, not only stunning but sturdy, seemed structurally up to the task. Then I tried to pry it over my shoulder for the crucial test drive. I struggled. I contorted. I removed my coat and my sweater. Finally I had to admit to myself: the bag’s straps were too short. Gamely, I held the bag in my hand rather than wedging it into the boney shoulder groove I’d perfected over the years. For an hour I walked around the store, bag in hand, trying to convince myself that this was indeed the perfect bag. But deep inside I knew otherwise. The Marni handbag triggered my toddler-chasing-computer-ogling forward shoulder slump, and the energy required to counteract this slump (in order to keep me upright) meant I’d be exhausted after walking half a block.
I cursed handbags—a sadistic, impractical invention—and then blamed the Marni bag in particular. It was the bag’s fault I couldn’t buy it. I blamed my kid. I blamed gravity. Then, reverting to quest mindset, I turned my scrutiny inward. Maybe the problem was me. Maybe I simply needed to correct my posture. Except, as I discovered when I tried it, “simply correcting my posture” was precisely as impossible as existing for my entire waking life in Mountain Pose. My mind was unable to counteract my spine’s naturally unnatural curvature toward the earth even when the perfect handbag was at stake. My body, in short, was imprisoned by itself. The Cure: Heal Your Body, Save Your Life

14th February 2007

I had the privilege of having dinner with Dr. Timothy Brantley and hearing first hand what he has been researching, treating and curing. “Wow!” is all I can say about this amazing book. An absolute must read for anyone suffering from anything. His nutrition facts are pure and objective since he tests out everything on the #1 guinea pig - himself! It covers why we are depleted of enzymes and how chewing your food and eating raw can replenish them. Why drinking structured water actually hydrates and why most of us are dehydrated even if we drink plenty of regular water. Did you know that table salt is recognized by the body as a toxin and pulls water out of individual cells into the surrounding tissues? Pure sea salt is the only salt we should ever have. And most importantly the fact that cooked foods is recognized by the human body as a foreign invader and causes a white blood cell inflammatory response called “Leukocytosis”. “The Cure” covers it all and is an honest read about Dr. Brantley’s real life experience and what it was like to treat many of his patients. I know this book will save many, many lives.

Dr. Brantley

“I’ve been asked the following question countless times during my years of practice, What’s really killing us? The simple answer is CANCER, HEART DISEASE, DIABETES AND OBESITY. But that’s not the question. The real question to me was what CAUSES these diseases and could I STOP them from killing my patients. I spent over two decades in clinical practice working with thousands of patients to discover the answers to these exact questions. That’s why I was compelled to write my book, “The Cure” …so that each and every one of you could learn the secrets to take control of your body and heal yourselves naturally. REMEMBER: WE ARE THE CAUSE AND WE ARE THE CURE!” -Dr. Timothy Brantley

Order your book now on Amazon or Wiley. “The Cure” is available everywhere.

Your Posture Tells The World What You Think About Yourself

14th February 2007

PostureYou know you’ve seen yourself hunched over in a reflection walking on the street in New York city many times. So you’ve adjusted your posture to try to stand up straight as an arrow only to end up slouched over in the next reflection down the block. It’s not your fault you can’t present yourself the way you would like to be seen - it is your fascia holding you back. Fascia, or connective tissue, exists everywhere in your body and forms a 4-dimensional spider web - yes it changes over time so lets not forget this dimension. It determines your structure, your posture. It may not be technically “alive”, but it does have many living cells within its matrix. It is primarily composed of collagen fibers, extracellular matrix, fibroblasts, and mechanoreceptors (cells that measure the pressure and stretch in tissue and tell the brain whats going on). Your brain creates a sense of proprioception from this communication (of where you are in space). What you think and experience as balanced and aligned probably is not so. Bad habits, joint misalignments, and muscle weakness can overpower your brains desire for proper balance and you end up with your bad posture. This is where Structural Integration comes into play. Shortened tissue needs to be physically lengthened, the joints need to be unwound and unbounded, and your brain needs to learn what straight is.

Cellular Tensegrity

7th January 2007

R Buckminster Fuller brought about the notion of internal structural balance through tension and integrity. He called this ‘Tensegrity‘. This notion has now been observed down to the cellular level of the human body. The old school idea that cells are floating and bumping into each other in a connective tissue matrix (that is erroneously thought of as the bodies inert filler) is no more. Small integrins and laminar filaments attach through the cell walls down into the nucleus and ultimately to the genetic code of the cell. Through these tiny guy wires every cell is structurally sound and is also attached and in communication with every other. The entire body is hard wired. How does this news affect you and I?

Finding Raw Milk In New York

1st January 2007

You can find raw, unpasteurized milk in New York. I’ve been buying raw cheeses but haven’t seen any raw milk in any health food stores including Commodoties, my local haunt. Pasteurization kills the healthy natural enzymes in the milk that aid in digestion. It creates a dead food. For more information on raw dairy check out the Raw Milk Facts site.

This is from the “Real Milk” website:

Pasteurization destroys enzymes, diminishes vitamin content, denatures fragile milk proteins, destroys vitamins C, B12 and B6, kills beneficial bacteria, promotes pathogens and is associated with allergies, increased tooth decay, colic in infants, growth problems in children, osteoporosis, arthritis, heart disease and cancer.

Pasteur had reason to help sterilize the unsanitary 1920’s agricultural conditions that were creating health problems; but its 2007 and we need to smarten up and educate ourselves so we can properly nourish our families.
